Cut Loose offers a laid-back collage workshop perfect for both beginners and experienced artists. The classes are designed to foster a fun, stress-free environment where you can try new things, let go of the pursuit of perfection, and enjoy connecting with fellow creators. I also provide guidance through my design exercises, helping participants explore new techniques and challenge unhelpful inner narratives as they embark on creative experiments.

Attention DIY crafters and ‘zinesters! Lisa Hersey of Antler Editions and Michael Sjostedt from Cut Loose Collage Workshops are teaming up to teach a Zine-Making class! Discover how to craft your own one sheet fold-up zines and express yourself with collage, utilizing the zines you create alongside a selection of vintage and repurposed materials! FYI: the zine structure can easily be reproduced at home or your local print shop using regular letter-sized paper. Take what you learn in the workshop and run with it!

Upcyclers, this workshop is for YOU! Transform castaway thrift store art into your own mixed media masterpiece! You’ll collage on top of found vintage paintings and posters using a wide range of ephemera, creating a new story and vibe all your own. Everyone will have a chance to rework several thrift store art finds. We’ll even have a makeshift “art open” at the end of the workshop!$75 per person, includes materials and refreshments. Michael’s method, known as Cut Loose, is based on simple tools and materials and embraces the power of play and experimentation. Using scissors, glue, and paper, collage becomes a mirror to the inner world, piecing together fragments of self. Challenge the confines of perfectionism, reconnect with your intuition, and confront narratives that might be holding you back. Whether you’re an art aficionado or a novice, discover the beauty of creation and introspection. All levels welcome.
Cancellation/Refund Policy for Cut Loose Collage Workshops
If you register for a workshop and later find that you are unable to attend, I will offer a credit for your registration amount to use toward a future Cut Loose Collage Workshop of equal value. To be eligible for this credit, please notify me at least 48 hours before the workshop by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. This credit is not redeemable for cash and cannot be applied to merchandise purchases. Credits or rescheduling requests cannot be honored with less than 48 hours advance notice.
In case of a workshop cancellation or rescheduling due to inclement weather, increases in local Covid cases, changes to local Covid guidance, or other unforeseen circumstances, you will receive a credit for a future workshop.
Please note that a lot of preparation goes into each workshop, including ordering supplies and refreshments. These arrangements are based on the number of registered students. Last-minute cancellations or rescheduling requests result in financial losses, and as a small business, I cannot absorb these costs while keeping class prices affordable.
To ensure fairness and consistency for all participants, I am unable to make exceptions to this cancellation policy, regardless of the reason. This includes circumstances such as illness, travel conflicts, or work commitments. If you find yourself unable to attend a workshop due to these or any other reasons, you are welcome to transfer your spot to a friend.
